Here is the 'final' (couldn't do more, but perhaps a few finale touches when it's already uploaded..) of my '
roject 1', now newly titled: Hell, meet Heaven. Haven't yet found a name for the little girl, now turned an Angel, with the Sci-fi gun in her hands. This just makes me think of something, I've made here a combination of three things: sci-fi, manga/anime and fantasy

didn't know that).I'm sorry about watermarking and overprotecting this item, but dew to the extreme amount of time I've put in this one I'm a bit careful.. (4 days almost non-stop :S). If you really want this though, you may send me a note and I'll send it to you
. 'Hell, meet Heaven' is just something I've thought up as this girl her history: 'an incredable loss has befallen the girl whoms wings are lying between fein and reality, following this was the anger that turned her sight green and her purpose red, going into the bowls of hell to redeem her loss...'
I really hope you like this one. And some advanced critique would be really appreciated!

first of all, I think this s brilliant and fantastic and amazing, secondly, 2 gig?! WTF!! soooo much space! I mean, the 4 days I can understand... but 2 GIG??!! omg *dies* Remember though, merging your layers wont kill you ^^ in fact, is really good and much easier to work with ^^ right, here is my crit ^^:
1. Her hair could do with more tone to it. I also think that it would look really cool if you scrapped the outline of it and drew more strands ^^ remember, even though its blond, some dark brown would be found on the underside of it.
2. This is brobally just me... but the eye needs some more 3d to it... like a white spot that is from where the light hits it.
3. The Shading is good... on a basic level! Crank it up a bit! use really dark contrasting colours! You can get an AMAZING effect with contrast (contrast is what I'm good at so I shall ramble about it XD) contrast is essential for your drawings to come alive. I can see that your style does'nt have much contrast in it to begin with, but I suggest you use one more layer of shading ^^ to give it that boost yoou know? ^^
4. I really like the way you did the gun, but more detail could be really cool ^^ like doing bumps in the metal, changing the texture in places ect.
4. The rocks are good, the detail in them is amazing! but I think you need to blend some of the cracks and stuff more, like taking a 20% opacity brush and making the edges a bit blurier ^^
All in all, for all the crit I've given, I think this is a wonderful peice!!! I applaud you! And I love the way you exadurate feet ^^

That is the most awesome thing I have seen today... you're also right, the certain part of the gun do remind me of Upgrade.... it works! o0o
But yeah, animes tend to mix lots of ideas together, which either makes it really good, or really weird. This is such a great combination though, and it does work, which makes it even better! I couldn't even do this, so I really have no suggestions on improvement... this is just ultimate proof that with a little bit of dA, encouragement, suggestions, and practice... things in art can be accomplished.
What I just said was so moving. It scares me now. o-o;

DA I think is one of the best things to come to artists, along with all those Oekaki boards! 8D But still, you're right we would have been worse off probably. Reason I got into art was because I was kind of jealous of my friend's skills and then went to join dA... I got very far from where I started almost 2 years ago on my ~phantomluver account.
