I wanted to draw something and was drawing a blank due to tiredness. I figured I'd just doodle if I wasn't going to be serious, but then I got to thinking about all the Doctor Who I watched this past weekend, and I missed me some Dalek goodness! XD I went searching for references, and I noticed there were no bird's eye view pics of a Dalek out there. This made me think of the first Dalek episode I ever saw with Rose and the 9th Doctor. Rose had 'infected' him with humanity, and he ends up committing suicide. But in my happy world, this Dalek has a revelation and looks up at the stars to take in the wonder that's there and dream of a brighter future... yes, I'm a total sap! LOL!

Excellent drawing, but I'm having a hard time making the connection to why it's in the Disney folder lol I mean its kind of like Ariel's pose at the end of Part of Your world but I'm not seeing in lol Still an awesome drawing though

The Daleks keep getting bones thrown for them. We've seen 3 examples of Daleks being allowed to be more emotional and less destructive in the new series, but somehow they keep themselves from making the logical step, which is tragic in its own sense. Daleks, despite being the big baddie, are almost...sad.
The best Dalek episodes are Dalek, Daleks in Manhattan, and Asylum of the Daleks. So for every new modern Doctor, there is one sympathetic view on this poor species. Hell, even when they're bad, like in The Waters of Mars special, when the Dalek looks down and flies away, that in itself is somehow strangely touching as it seems humans and Daleks are themselves becoming linked in a way.
Actually when you think about it, Daleks are simply The Doctor without allowing himself to get close to humans. Brilliant!

Oh I fell in love with Daleks the first time I saw them in the 9th Doctor episode with Rose. They do have a sympathetic side I adore, and I've yet to see any of the latest season, but I'm looking forward to watching Asylum of the Daleks SO much! LOL! XD

It was my first dalek episode as well. God it terrified me when the dalek crushed Simmons head, at ten years old, that was scary.

The very first episode with the Daleks I ever saw was with the 9th Doctor where they had a Dalek question its existence, and ever since then I've been fascinated with them and wanting to see more moments like the one Rose had... of course, I'm a big fan of redemption anyway
