At first I thought "nah this is horrifically disturbing" but after looking at it for a while I concluded that this is an interesting piece of emotive photography. Very edgy. I like it. I hope to be confident and as expressive in my work some day.......

Nice! I was just thinking how when I was a kid I would have *loved* getting to play with fake blood - especially since the first thing I ever remember saying I wanted to be when I grew up was 'a vampire', then I saw in the comments how you arranged it.
Must have taken some patience to shoot though. I'm impressed!Β
(I don't envy the cleaning up job afterwards though!)Β

woah!! I'll have to agree, this is definitely a morbidly intense shot, but there's no reason to get in a tizzy over it. No harm has been done to this child....McKay's niece is completely obvious to the graphic or violent nature behind this particular photo shoot. So many situations are taken out of context, people who are up in arms before acquiring all the info.Β If it wasn't posted on McKay's profile here on this site, one could imagine this photo taken in the aftermath of a paint 'fight' or those foam parties. To the person who commented "kids shouldn't be used as props!"Β The world is a magical place full of people waiting to be offended by something.... get a grip and pull your panties out of your a$$.
I admit still curious where or what prompted you for this idea/concept... you could just as easily given this a title that was far less controversial than you did. Generally there is a story behind everything in life, I happen to like stories and this seems like it would be an interesting one. lol

My sister wanted something messy and fun, so we gave her a cup of it, and she was running around playing while I shot, my style just veers into shooting people in down moments while they are thinking, so you get this intense look. The title is for controversy and I guess it worked lol.
