Minecraft is a non-linear game. It's still in development, but you're allowed to sort of play/test it. And buy it for a few extra features, like multiplayer and being able to change the player's skin. It's a world made up entirely of blocks where you... well, you mine, and you craft. Yeah, they snuck in some parody of Creepers blowing up a wall, but they're way too happy and not at all creepy like they are in the game.

ThunderLOLcats pains me so... but at least they realize that it's stupid.

I haven't! Knowing what I'd have to do just to get the portal activated makes me kind of sad. And then I'm stuck there until I kill a dragon (or die), which doesn't seem to do much besides giving the (not so) little story thing. I just dunno if it's really worth it yet! ;o;

Apparently you can wander 'round with a pumpkin on your head and endermen won't react, though it limits your visibility and considering that dragon, I wouldn't think about wearing it there.

Well, killing the dragon does give you a boatload of experience - we split it between three people and I still got 50 levels. But yeah, you do need a lot of ender pearls to get there... you could always just slowly collect them during rainstorms? :S

I didn't know that about the pumpkin! I'll have to try it. You just equip it as a helmet?

Yup, just equip it as a helmet, haha.

So far I've only been playing with my boyfriend on his server (or playing single player), and I've heard that the dragon is pretty hard to kill, especially with endermen about (we need to find a lot more diamonds), so I dunno if it'd be wise for us to even try to find the End by ourselves. Not yet, at least. XD We be noobs still.

Yeah, we had four people working at once, though the fourth one was on their way back after being killed when we actually took it down. The End is usually a floating island, so you often get shoved off the edge by the dragon or Endermen - we lost a lot of diamond gear that way. If you ever get there, take looots of arrows and a bow (or try and get an Infinity enchantment on the bow). You can make a house and chests in the End, but the Enderdagon tends to break the chest and scatters it's contents.
My group currently plays on the massivecraft.com server, which incorporates factions and a money system into the game.

Good point there, but I try to kill them just for the EXP so i can enchant my items to get better things
