Description Your hand still glides along the table,
Slow and gentle lies the fable.
One long lost and forever forgotten,
A peaceful death whose soul is rotten.

Your eyes, how they zoom,
Across the empty room,
Up the forbidden stairs and through the hall,
A soft-spoken voice will soothingly call.

Your heart still pulses in this mysterious house,
Along with the lovely, scurrying mouse.
Crevices, cracks, in ridiculous places,
Hide the vermin that scramble through your mazes.

Your time was here, your time is gone,
A spirit still wandering as a abandoned fawn.
Young in heart, but old in truth,
I believe in your lingering youth.

Forever will the steps creak beneath my feet,
And the olden door sway the wrong way,
A way of haunting me for not reading your fable one day.

A haunting piece that slithers smoothly and a bit creepily, An unusual theme that reads well and is very appealing.
