I never realised these Hoverflies were so common.
I always used to assume they were small wasps!

Great shot.

Folks, if you have a garden, then take a good look at this insect,
because it's one of your best friends.
LOL! no need for chemical pest killer sprays with a squadron of these hanging around!
Not only are the adults active pollinators, but their larvae are some of the best insect defense a plant could ever have (especially rose bushes)!
Each grub will consume over 400 aphids in that 10 day period of it's part of the Hoverfly's life cycle.
