Description Though pagan the Green Man can be found on many churches and cathedrals, like this one in the Abbey Gardens... Is thought to be a nature or fertility figure depending on who you listen to...

That's a nice old carving, Dawn, but it's not a green man. It could be a saint, a king, or even a portrait of the mason's best mate. This is a green man: [link] - it's the foliage springing from the mouth that defines him

I had thought that leaves were needed originally too - however the sign in the abbey states that it is a green man so went with that.

You're very welcome! I'm just glad he was available to be featured, for I so thought he went well with *Earthmagic 's deviation of the olive tree "feet" and the whole thought of Spring and the return of the green man!
