Description I was really chuffed to get this jackdaw posing for me - nicely working the tree waiting my cake crumbs
queried what chuffed meant so for Americans rather than English, you would be chuffed to bits if you were really pleased about something

So THAT'S what a Jackdaw looks like! While reading The Magician's Nephew (part of the Narnia series) I thought "It'd be a lot easier for me to imagine this if I knew what a jackdaw is supposed to look like." I imagined a magpie. XD

Thank you for the explanation, hehehehehe!
I was just speaking to someone else from the UK
and the same subject came up...about same language
different meanings...funny
I almost married a man from the UK and we used to
compare words that were the same but had different
meanings

Well...Men and women have different languages, don't they? hehehehe!!!
Same here...My husband and I grew up only 40 miles apart (sorry, don't
know metrics) and sometimes even after 21 yrs. it's like we're from
opposites ends of the country, hehe

Long distances are in miles if you had used kilometres I`d have to convert it Only use metric for a metre (3 foot) and less - bit weird really thinking about it

Cool...I did not know that. I thought the entire world, except
the US used the metrics, we had to be the oddballs...I remember
when I was, I think in grammar school, there was a big deal
about weather we were going to learn the metric system....
ummm, never did, hehehe.

I must say this is a Fabulous photo...and I'm not fond of "all black" birds (I think I was scared as a child, being chase by a raven at a zoo)
But I must ask you...what does "chuffed" mean

Thanks, wow that must be scary - ravens are such big birds guess you had something tasty on you?
Must admit I don`t eat chicken after seeing one around with no head and blood everywhere I must have been about 7 still makes me feel ill!

Seperated by a common language Chuffed - You would be chuffed to bits if you were really pleased about something.

I guess ...he made me think I was the tasty one!
And he was as big as I was!

I love birds!...feed them all the time, they hang out
around our house a lot...but I chase away the Crows and
Grackles, I know that sounds mean...but I don't like
them because they're big and black!

Grackles that`s a great word sounds like something from Dark Crystal or Harry Potter
Just wikipedied it - looks kind of like a magpie

Well...They are annoying, they come by the dozens and eat
anything and everything...so they can just go back to the
Dark...as far as I'm concerned hehe!
