This is my first painting with mixed media. I recently bought gouache and tried to work with it and watercolour paints to give more depth to her hair and create a fuller-textured effect.

I struggle with the skin. It was also my first time drawing and painting a face and organic traits such as lips, skin and eyes. I find it difficult to blend and come to a "real" finish. If you have any advice for me, it would be really appreciated!

My inspiration for this artwork was simply to represent the storm that comes by from time to time. I envisioned the storm as an actually nice person, trying to teach us things to make us stronger. She is not always appreciated, but she does what she has to do. In the end, she knows that she is doing the right thing.
