The arrows came at them fast. The dragon tried its best to dodge them all, but as he swooped to the left he looked down to see his Amazon rider fall screaming to the distant earth below, an arrow lodged in her chest. He knew that if she somehow survived the arrow, there was no way she would survive the fall. He swooped down to find her corpse that had slammed onto the hard paving of the castle ruins. He picked up her sword and flew away, just as he saw from the corner of his eye a band of warriors rushing into the ruins to claim their trophy. Amazon Dragon Knights were highly sought after and always made very valuable trophies of war.

Great scene. Not being the sort that works in this medium I really have no right to comment, however, I think the idea of a lament would be more clear if there was some way of showing tears in the eyes of the dragon; otherwise it simply looks like she might be prey.
