One of the biggest open secrets in Islamabad is the deer sanctuary in the center of Islamabad. The Prime road/ carriageway of Islamabad starts at "Zero point" which is the major entry into the city and heads straight to Faisal Mosque (the 5th Largest Mosque in the World). This road is the backbone of the road transportation infrastructure of Islamabad being a dual carriageway, 4 lanes on each side. To the left and right of the road are large stretches of greenery .. trees and grass ... and just at the top of the road on the left hand side there is a cordoned off safe sanctuary about a kilometer long , cordoned off with wire mesh fence and about 50 deer and antelope quietly graze amongst the shade of the trees.

Very few people see it, or are even aware of this not even the local residents of Islamabad.
