Location: Rawal Lake, Islamabad, Pakistan

Red Wattled Lapwing.

It is a very loud and noisy bird and makes a shrill cry that sounds like "Tee-Tee-Ri" Hence its local name "Teeteeri". They don't build nests but lay their eggs on the ground. Both Males and females will incubate the eggs while the other either watches or keeps guard. At the sign of any intruder the birds will fly into the air and circle around the basic area of where they have laid their eggs and make loud "Tee-Tee-Ri" calls.
