LOL ... well I have got a tactical helmet and body armour on order ... for future occurrences.
However, I find that the people that throng to the Shrine of Bari Imam and the village around it are very friendly and warm and not so serious ond sombre as I have seen in other shrines.

well what I mean is that there are are shrines and holy places that are a bit more fanatical .. many sections of muslims believe that taking photographs of people is very very unislamic, I have steered clear of such places intentionally, because it would end up in much mroe trouble than a rock throwing girl. I already had one unpleasant run in about a year ago. I was trying to take an image of a street cobbler ... and he saw me ... he called me over ..and i went to him.
He was sitting down and when i reached he stood up ,,, a stocky burly man towering a good 4 inches over me and I was within his punching range. A crowd had gathered ..quickly because it was in the bazaar. He told me to delete his picture and i easily aquiesed and apologised. Then he starting ranting about how photography was unislamic and other vitriolic aspersions ... I could sense the crowd getting a bit agitated. When he quietened down a bit .. I asked him if he had an Government Issues ID card. (it can be a problem because of the "terror" situation here .. many refugees/infiltrators dont have ID cards. He said yes (the crowd was watching) and I asked him to show it to me ...
I took his ID card .. and then said to him .. You say photography is "haram is used to refer to any act that is forbidden by Allah" then what do you call a person who lets "Haram" be done on him .. and I showed the crowd his photograph ... and said he must be "harami" ... now the meaning of that must be lost on you .. but generally adding an "I" turns and verb into an adjective so it was saying that he himself is "an act forbidden by Allah ... However the word Harami .. is also used collequeally to mean "illegitimate offspring" ... YES the "B" word ...
That caused the crowd to start laughing and taunting him .. and at that ...I quickly made a bee line for my car and drove away.
I do go to the same bazar .. often ... The cobbler is still there.. I still roam about with my camera ... now he doesnt say a word to me ... of course I dont take his photograph

Turning the accusation around was a daring act. Expecially in an ambigous context. But it worked!

Well it was either being able to get the better of the situation or never being able to go there again out of embarresment ..

Lovely shot. I think though it may be polite to ask their permission first before snapping a shot if you can see their face.

yes I know ... but sometimes being polite, one loses the moment. I feel as long as I am not rude or offensive to them .. it is tolerable
