I couldn't leave that Boosette tale unattended for too long.
This piece and illustration is the result of a belated birthday gift from Mythkaz who asked me what I wanted. He usually grants me one request when that date comes, though he has been busy and distracted lately thus why this one is a month after the event in itself. Nonetheless, it's a lovely little sequel to the ghost-genie little saga that I am more than happy to continue and share.

DJINN MANSION2 : DARK GALLERY
It had been a while since Luigi had gone missing.
Mario had been receiving the visit of Rosalina, something that had been planned for quite a while and that he expected Luigi to be a part of...and yet his little brother hadn't even been present either for the preparations or the event when it occurred. As brave as he was, as courageous as he proved to be time and again, Mario was not immune to worries and stress as Luigi did have a side-business of patrolling haunted houses with Professor E.Gadd. Even though he was a scaredy cat, he had proven himself to be pretty apt at this job and yet danger was indeed present in such activities. As such, when Mario broke things off in order to search for his brother, Rosalina was far from insulted and suggested to tag along given all that the Mario brothers had done for her.
It took some time to determine just where exactly Luigi had been last spotted. Going to E.Gadd's laboratory, they quickly found out that the place was a mess and that the scientist was nowhere to be found, making it so the task of checking reports was a rather tall order. There were a lot of abandoned houses, mansions, manors, castles and the like which could be perfect homes for Boos, poltergeists and other phantoms as both Mario and Rosalina went on to pilfer through it all. It was the latter that eventually found the latest file, one that was indeed incomplete and stated as an ongoing mission as it was a mansion bordering the Sarasaland desert. Luigi's signature could be found upon the document alongside its coordinates and that made it the best place to start looking.
After many warp pipes travels and some long walks, both Mario and Rosalina eventually did find themselves before the mansion, a mixture of old architecture from before the Mushroom Kingdom and Sarasaland flair, somewhat decrepit yet a bit exotic as both entered, determined. Much less prone to fear than Luigi, both were on their guards and held flashlights as they knew to stay together and to be methodical. Secret passageways were classics when it came to such places and while Rosalina certainly had not much experience in whatever haunted locales could be found, Mario did. Thus did they check the entrance hall at their own pace, dusting off a few places, looking for hidden blocks, switches or anything that could reveal unseen corners. This, unfortunately for them, did put them in a precarious position as many of its denizens caught either a glimpse or full-sight of those two interlopers and went on to warn the mistress of the house.
Boosette, formerly King Boo, was quite aware of how even some of her numbers were afraid of Mario and with good reasons. He was nearly a force of nature in himself, an unstoppable one-man army who could jump, punch and throw through whatever was in his way. She'd need to be smart in order to get rid of him and yet this proved to be a most perfect opportunity to move forward with her plan and dream to gather the most sumptuous gallery of heroes and personalities in the world. She knew not quite who this princess-like person was, but she was certainly eye-catching and would be a most welcome addition to the mansion. Thus did she go forth and formulate a plan, one which involved her subjects as they cackled at this fool-proof little strategy she concocted.
Meanwhile, Mario and Rosalina searched thoroughly, moving to one of the corridors as the lack of light, the dust and the abandoned quality of this entire mansion were certainly eerie. They spoke Luigi's name, hoping he would respond, yet all it did was actually allow for the Boos to know exactly where they were. As such, when a few of them went on to conveniently move Luigi's own frame-prison and allowed both Mario and Rosalina to witness his current predicament, it made it so the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom reacted immediately. Mario dashed forward, ready to do whatever it would take to save his little brother as his speed was certainly higher than most when it came to running. Faster certainly than Rosalina as she tried to keep up and yet a trap beneath the floor made her fall down with a scream. This caused Mario to hesitate and yet the Boos laughed and went to another room with Luigi in tow, prompting him to take a decision. Luigi had more experience in haunted mansions and two Mario brothers was better than one, with them both able to save Rosalina after. This decision, however, would prove to be a massive mistake.
Mario went on thus to follow the Boos as they went on to travel through a long corridor, longer than it had any right to be as they floated above the ground. Mario tried to reach them, yet some unknown effect made them ever just out of reach as eventually some other signs went on to reveal the eerie and supernatural nature of this hallway. Paintings could be seen on the side, that of a beautiful yet somewhat spooky white-haired girl wearing a Sarasaland bedlah. White and gold, with her midriff on display, each one he passed by went on to show a different move from baladi, a dance style originating from the neighboring kingdom that the mansion was close to. Mario was laser-focused on Luigi, yet it was rather impossible to just downright not see the semblance of motions and sensuality that bordered his sight. Luigi was somewhat passive, however, eyes spiraling and with swirls in the background of the painting he was a captive of as Mario noticed those details right here and there...unfortunately for himself.
Rosalina, meanwhile, had landed in a room that was a far cry from the rest of the mansion. Located either in the basement or sub-basement, it was lit in an almost intimate fashion here as her fall had been broken by a large pile of cushions with Sarasaland patterns upon it, intricate and colorful as in front of her stood or rather floated a ghost that was unlike any she had ever seen. A princess-like being, complete with a crown on her head, long flowing white hair, wearing what they called a bedlah on this world as she grinned, showing her sharp teeth. There was both mischief and cruelty behind those pink eyes, her beauty but artifice despite it being very real as she went on to cackle and as her long tongue flopped, she went on to dance and to say it was beautiful would be to describe it much too simply. There was a flow to her motions, a calculated yet fluid appeal that caught Rosalina's gaze right here and then, imprisoning it upon her flesh.
Mario, meanwhile, continued to run and yet he felt not fatigued but rather tired for unknown reason. His laser-focus upon Luigi made it so he did see the spirals, concentrating on them despite himself as tunnel-vision developed itself...and yet the hallway went on to adapt to this as they became thinner. Thus it became impossible to not be a witness to the dance the paintings were showcasing as while the belly of that dancer undulated and swayed, so did the corridor itself. Manipulated by illustrations, even Mario's sense of balance and focus began to waver just as that waist was gyrating as though it was not exactly fluid, static imagery suggesting a performance rather than demonstrating it, he began to lose himself in it as his imagination did the rest despite himself. Unbeknownst to himself, he was falling for the same trap that Luigi had, the hypnotic baladi claiming him little by little.
Rosalina, at this time, was trying to reason, to get up, maybe even converse or flee, but none of those options were available due to her mind being half-frozen. Whether it was awe or fear could not be determined, yet nevertheless she went on to admire the dance despite herself. Hips swung like a pendulum, then that midriff went on to undulate as if it beckoned for her entire sight and focus. She hyper-fixated on that body, on that pale skin which mixed itself well with the white and gold as Rosalina relaxed unwittingly, the comfort of the cushions and pillows mixing with the allure offered to her. The cackles and the smug grin were lost to her, the calming ecstasy flowing through her making her weak and vulnerable as she was slowly being entranced by this mysterious dancer.
Mario knew not how long he had run or if he was even advancing right now. Unaware of any progress or even movement on his part, the paintings flew him by as the process sped up and so did the dance. Luigi was still in front of him, spiraling and swirling as Mario went on to half-witness that the hallway became a circular room, a trap he had fallen in. Spinning, its pace and rhythm becoming overwhelming, the large room went on to then compress itself and lessen the amount of personal space Mario had as Luigi's own painting had disappeared. By now, he could only see the swirls behind the dancer, that gorgeous girl claiming his entire attention and then eventually imprisoning him not just mentally but physically as well as Boos went on to sneak behind him...and the deed was done.
The same went on to happen to Rosalina as she was defenseless, vulnerable beyond comprehension as her thoughts were nearly non-existent. The mesmerizing midriff just captured her as the cackles of the dancer were joined by that of others who approached slowly but surely. Any instinct or impulse she had to flee or even turn around died down instantaneously until the inevitable occurred and then she felt a shift in her predicament and situation. Like passing through a thin veil, reality switching up and then she was not on pillows anymore...yet the peacefulness and comfort remained.
The plan had worked like a charm as Boosette checked up on her subjects hanging two new paintings in her gallery, right next to Luigi's. The courageous and supposedly invincible Mario alongside a woman that was apparently named Rosalina? One of the Boos seemed to know who she was as both were trapped in hypnosis, entranced and enthralled as her new genie powers certainly came in handy. A showcase of her power and the possibilities of this domain of hers, she began to think of just who would be added next as she cackled and chuckled alongside her subjects, admiring these works of art. If they could capture Mario of all people...
The sky was the limit.
