Description In the far edges of the galaxy, there are still some of the original gates. Made of stone instead of metal, and unable to cross the huge distances. These gates can only transport withing the same solar system. There are very few of them working anymore, as most have long since crumbled to dust.

Owarell and Incy took their son Azreal on a small trip for some fresh air and some sunshine. Azreal takes after his grandpa Greg, and has a fascination with insects.

Daz - 4 separate render layers, as the scene was just much too big to render as a full scene. Posing/scene setting took about a week. Rendering took all day.

Photoshop - Grass, as the grass in the models is flat and lifeless. Also flowers added in PS, and some color enhancement. Owarell's hair drawn. Incy and Azreal have 3D hair, but used smudge brush to fine tune and add more texture.

Makes a pleasant change from some of the dark stuff I have been reading on dA lately (some of it is breathtakingly good, but dark nevertheless...)

Thank you so much! Actually the son is fairly new. Well, was conceived awhile ago, and then put into one of the pods (Incy was all hell no I am not giving birth!)

I was going to do a fic, but I just never got around to it, so... it's just bits and pieces of the story scattered around on the forum.

Yeah, there is a lot of dark art and stuff around. Normally my stuff can be fairly dark, but for some reason, I'm really liking working with something a bit brighter lately. It's very calming and theraputic for me.

Incy and Azreal are completely created from my brain. Owarell is based on "Darrell" the Wraith from Wraithal Discrimination (he barely showed in the Gift, and was in two parts of "The Siege") I've taken many liberties with him though, and the only thing that really remains is the tattoo on his face and the dreadlocks.

Thank you dear Haha, yeah, had some super cute hair that I wanted to put on Incy. It helps too, that I can go touch up, and understand more how the shadows and changes in color work, so I can just do it myself later.

From what I know of you, in fact so few..., you've had enough hard times these past months. My first impression is that you are "just" expressing the need for some peace/rest, in a need of a quiet moment/place.
After all these years playing with my 3D programs, I remain convinced that our muse is just... ourselves, listening to either the others or to our own (un)conscious needs/desires...
There is a parameter in art that kind of frighten me somewhat: I wonder if the most beautiful pieces of art does not come from suffering/pain... That's only a personal question...

Oh hon,it's been a bad couple of years to be honest. I find the art actually helps me a great deal, as long as I can create, I don't get depressed. I fully believe the muse is just ourselves, and sometimes, it is just not active. Mine, overactive as of late, but I'm not complaining, it's making me pick up a few new techniques and branching to different places.

A lot of my old stuff, when I used to do a bit of photography/manip, is all dark pretty much. I look back at that stuff and go "wow, I had nothing good to say back then" I do however, believe that often, the beautiful pieces are due to pain, or some extreme at least. It has to come from deep within.
