the episodes havnt airde yet so dont act like you know but i think Kevin will die or Gwen will die they made it very convincing in the preview kevins even draining gwens power which will probably kill her and kevin is more corrupt and ruthless he has to be STOPPED! BEN MUST KILL HIM!

And the fact that Ben 10 is a kids show. So putting it together:
1) Gwen loves Kevin, and love redeems.
2) Kevin loves Gwen back even though he's Ax Crazy right now.
3) It's a kids' show. Only the real bad guys die. Kevin's been a good guy (mostly) since Alien Force, so they'll find a way to save him rather than kill him.
4) It's just more exciting to show the preview looking like Ben will kill Kevin, but Ben knows it would break Gwen up, and plus it'd be better to have Kevin back on their side for whatever they have to face in the future.

Thank you. The whole point of the Nightmares series for me was to explore the kind of things that would scare/worry/freak out Kevin. He's a much deeper character than the show lets us see. He has to be for what he's been through.

Even though Ben seems to be making noises about "putting Kevin down", I don't think the show would ever get as dark as this.

Well, no, it's not gonna happen. These are just Nightmares: things that really frighten/worry/stress out Kevin at a deep subconscious level he may not even be aware of when he's awake.
And Gwen looks hollow because Kevin sucked all the Anodite energy away, leaving just her clothes and her empty human skin.

I am picky about my ships. I really like Kev & Gwen together. I love "redeem the villain" stories, and to do it with a love story too -- my favourite.
So I'm enjoying exploring the idea of things that Kevin is afraid of but too much of a tough guy to ever admit to.

same with me i really like the redeemed villains too i love all anti hero typs there my favs in every show plus gwen is the only one for kevin there perfect for each other adding love to the dark hero thing make its soo much better 
kevin fears that is a good thing to do he must had lost of fears lost of dark coroner of his mind and heart he has seen soo much darkness in his life it made him tough but also cold
