Description Yesterday I was having an awfully boring day. I started Photoshopping a couple of images and the goal was to make a vintage-looking pic. I wasn't quite happy with the previous version after all, this one looks more like it was supposed to look.

The girl in the pic was taken from dani-stock and the scene was taken from ~Diesel-stock.

Nicely done.
Her decidedly summer-weight clothing suggests that the wintry landscape is the landscape of her mind rather than her actual surroundings.

hmm.. that's a good point of view, you see, that's what makes deviantart such an interesting place.
you create art, upload it here and then someone gives you a whole new perspective on your image..
thank you for the comment

In a very real sense, once a work of art is published it no longer belongs to the author but to the interpreters.

I agree with you. And to hear the viewer's thoughts about the art is probably the best thing the artist can get.

this is lovely. The bleached black-and-white look works very well here.

Thank you, this is kind of a sad picture, it looks like as if the girl was longing for someone. Maybe she used to go there
with someone special that's now gone.. Or then she's just lost in her thoughts in there.

I just wish they were my own photos, I don't usually use stock photos on my
works for one simple reason; they're not mine.. I just loved the background
on that pic, autumn and winter are both very beautiful seasons.

Not really sad, but perhaps expectant? Or perhaps other worldly? Like she is waiting for someone and has been there a while? Hope springs eternal..........a definite fave!

Thank you! I have always been a big fan of old photos, in this one I tried to achieve the same kind of look and atmosphere.. The background-trick was fully hand made in this one.

Sad indeed. The warm soft tone, with black the only defining color, and that hovering over the girl . . . the empty lane stretching away into blurred oblivion . . .
Oppression of black and of winter, tight around her downcast figure.
And yet the coloor is soft and light, and she is beautiful in her dress, the ice beautiful in its complexity. Not depressing, but melancholy.
Just a note . . . the girl is not quite as in-focus as the path where she's standing.
Cool beans, pal.

Thanks for the detailed comment No, but honestly, I really like to read this kind of stuff.. To see how other people see my work and what does it make them feel. Maybe my goal is to make people feel something by these works, sometimes sad, sometimes not. I might have a little negative way of thinking about things, so that's why most of my works are somewhat sad and melancholic.. Can't really help it
