Yes, yes, I know, this is my third time drawing Leon Bridges. I'll stop drawing him when he stops being so inspiring.I wanted to experiment a bit more with colored pencils on black paper (with actual color this time!). I really loved the colors of this photo of him [link] and thought it would be perfect for this. I'm trying to be more loose and gestural when drawing portraits... which is really difficult when your brain always tells you to make everything "perfect." Oh well.

So many beautiful "sketchy" lines that blend in a way that make your portrait look flawless!
The blend and the highlights of his skin tone and all the beautiful reflective tones are marvellous and truly something to admire. This is such a memorable portrait. Something I would be very proud of if I had drawn it myself.

I've never tried to draw a coloured person but it's something I aspire to do- they are beautiful and artistically just perfect! And you really did it justice!
