So this is an entry for SumikoOneeSan's competition, to do a piece of fan art for her amazing 'White Wolf with the Blue Eyes' animation series. (If you haven't seen it, go watch it noooow. ;D). The basic idea of this contest was to match a song with a picture, to sort of 'tell a story' with it. As soon as I read it this song just flew into my head. It's something I've always associated with Wolfen, the lyrics and the sort of haunting sound, plus it's one of my favourite songs so I was very much open to using it. Most of the series is centred around his own memories, good and bad, and they play a large part in the plot. In almost all of them, there is his mother, Aria. When deciding on the art, I knew straight away that they pair of them matched the song perfectly. It's about memories keeping something lost near, which suits them completely. It's also a sad, sort of chilling song which I thought matched the story.

Anyway, the story of this drawing is basically the memories Wolfen has of his mother Aria, and how they keep her with him through all the challenges he faces. The two wolves at the front are of course the pair when Wolfen was just a little cub, and in the background are those famous blue eyes of his. The tear drop is, well, because he misses his mother.

My tablet conveniently decided to break a day or so before I got the chance to begin the drawing, so this is done entirely in pencil with the sky in watercolours, and slightly sharpened on the computer.
