Description Dancing For Babies

Timing monthly rituals
Wondering whether its right
Happy smug smiles for more than two weeks
Then I flow like a river after icy winter’s thaw

Pains in my stomach
Never lets up
The walls inside me thicken
Cysts grow like disease taking over my
Birth rights
My womanhood
My motherhood

I dance for again
Again I dance the lover’s ritual
‘Til mechanical feelings freeze me out
Feeling resentment
About bleeding babies

Biblically barren
One out of four
Should I feel lucky
There are some without
Any…

Is my pain lessoned by those more
unfortunate, more wanting
Once you have tasted the sweetness of babies
You want another, another until you are full

So perhaps due to my one
I am more unfortunate than those
Who do not know
What they are even missing out on
They have never danced for a baby
They only try our tribal dance

Dancing for babies
Like wanting a soul
Deep inside to carry
Forever, emptiness follows
Please fill up my heart
I shall dance for my babies
Til death do us part

This is amazingly full of depth and a clarity of voice. I love this poem. My mother and grandmother had many miscarriages, so it has often worried me. God, I love this poem.
