Lol, the 1966-1968 incarnation of Jet never got a scratch on him when he was helping his friends and other people.

many years ago, they were in different youtube accounts and torrents. These days, the best source of 009 info is this tumblr
heinrippy.tumblr.com/cyborgs
Bookmark it and check it occasionally for 009 goodness

Ahaha, this is great! Love how he opens the beer bottle.
Btw, do you know in which 1979 episode he had his arm ripped off? I'v been trying to find it for ages, but no luck so far.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply!
oh gosh... uh, it was the 2nd or 3rd episode from the end of the series. So like 47 or 48 of the 1979 series? Happens in the last 7-8 minutes of the episode if that helps!

Gosh, I can only imagine. Actually, in both the instances of limb removal, Jet was out of commission, except maybe grit his teeth and talk or pass out. (unlike what some of the fanart portrays)
Hee hee, that's what I thought, it's a weapon!
Yup! You can also check my information journal (linked on my frontpage) to see all the cyborgs birthdays (Joe's is this month!)

hee hee, I'm sure the fans can come up with something!
Oh yeah, all they cyborgs can survive the vacuum of space. Actually, in the first volume of the manga, they mention specifically that Black Ghost was trying to create a soldier who could fight on the next war zone, which would be space. So they can survive in space (but only a little bit, 1 hour or so, then they run out of air).

Yeah, it varies for each version. Actually the suspended animation subplot only exists in the 2001 anime, the rest of the versions they are operated on within a few weeks of each other. But, that is the only time they go into space, except for a couple episodes in 1960's anime, and one story arc in the early manga. (volume 4 I believe)
^^ thanks!

2001 is so correct when he sais "It's re-entry that's a bitch". I nearly cried when I saw that episode on Toonami. I was like 'noooooooooooo!' 002 can't die. I was even more disappointed though when I missed the episode the next day. What did happen? I saw another much later episode and 002 was in it so I suppose both 002 and 009 survived re-entry.
I've allways joked about 002's long nose even though he's my favourite character and now I know it's use. 'Be careful, you could peck an eye out with that one!'

oh yes, and I am not as strong as you, I cried when I watched that on YouTube :'3 (I wish I could've seen it in English like you Australians)
Actually episode 48 is the end of the 2001 TV series. This same story arc in the manga, was supposed to be the end of the manga, but due to fan outcrys, Ishinomori continued it, for over 27 more volumes :3
Episodes 49, 50, and 51 of Cyborg 009 are an OVA. They are based on a certain story arc of the manga that Ishnomori wanted to end the series with. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could complete it.
I know! so much hilarity from that nose, too many jokes! (i need to write more)

I have the English version of that episode on video but i can't watch it because I no longer have a video player *sigh*. I love that episode so much. 002's speech was so touching and sad. So this episode was the last one?

Yes, Episode 48 that was technically the last episode of the 2001 TV series. THey had 3 OVA episdoes after it. Jet and Joe both still happily alive ^^ You can read more about it on the wiki page [link]
wha..... WHAT?!?!? you have it on TAPE?!??!?
omg, do you realize what you own?! That episode never aired in America, and no copy of it exists on the internet in English, and since no DVD release exists of it, you hold a treasure indeed!

I was actually just about to contact you about this XD.
I had a brain wave last night and I was wondering if you would convert the tape for me if I mailed it to you. I'm sure I could work out how to do it here but I don't have the right equipment. You're probably already set up so it might be easier if you convert the tape. Hows that sound? You're in America right?

Okay, I apologize for the awkwardness of a three-way conversation. But I wanted to suggest something.
Do you know if you have any businesses in your area that do VCR to DVD conversion? We have different services in the US, from mailing it to someone or to drop off at a local business and they do it. There is actually a business near me that specializes in foreign films and can do PAL to DVD conversions in the US.
THough I don't think it'll be good for the tape to mail it all the way to the US, if you need money to go to one of these services I would be glad to donate!
