Movies: AVATAR & AVATAR: The Way of Water

I love the first AVATAR movie (10/10) & AVATAR: The Way of Water was fun (8/10). I was so curious about just how the Avatars differ from the Na’vi physically in the first film. Turns out, not that much. The Avatars have 5 fingers & toes, & their queue is located at the base of their skulls. The Na’vi only have 4 fingers & toes, & their queue is located at the top of the skull.

The sequel adding on the Ocean Na’vi was fun for me. I loved how they are physically adapted to an aquatic environment. Everything from their thicker tails & arms to the clear membrane that slides over their larger eyes in the water really speaks to the amount of detail put into their physiology. Also, I think their fin-like extensions are cartilage-based. It would be sturdy but light enough not to be a hindrance.
