Description The Story in Kubo and the Two Strings really connected to be in a couple of ways. For one, his relationship with his mother reminded me of my father; when he was sick, I took care of him. I looked after the house, made the food, and kept him company. I was also with my dad when he eventually passed away. The last thing I said to him was "I'll be OK, and you'll be OK". Even though he is gone now, sometimes I can still imagine talking to him, what he would say if he was still here, if he would like new movies and TV shows I'm watching. The people we love, and those who love us, find a way to stick around in memories and emotions. Kubo's parents loved him so much, they didn't leave him until he was strong enough to take care of himself. Even then, the love they had still stayed.

It isn't always the good things we keep in our hearts; regret, anger, and sadness are hard to let go of. Sometimes the bad memories are tied right up with the good. While the bad ones feel like they are tying us down, the good ones are pulling us up. I've been feeling pretty bad lately, wishing things had been different in my life, and wishing I had been a better person sooner. I tried to show something with Kubo, where he may be hurting inside, but he isn't letting go of what he cares about and what makes him strong. He's such a little kid, I wanted to emphasize that although may be small and in some ways is still delicate, he has an inner glow of courage. He's also holding the two strings he got from his mother and father over his heart~

I don't have much for art programs on my computer... so I've gotten good at making things in MS Paint using a mouse, then doing picture edits to get the effect I want. It is pretty tedious, but I'm really happy with how this picture came out!

Thank you~

Such simple and stunning artwork. Very humble and I think it matches the movie very well.Β

Thank you very much! I sort of wanted it to look like it was drawn on real paper with light behind itΒ
