How Miran makes his first impression depends entirely on the situation that he meets someone; is he trying to get you to leave? Or does he want information? Or maybe he's just bored, who knows - but the first thing about Miran, is that he takes the understanding he has of people, and uses it to his full advantage. That's not to say he's out to hurt people, and one would be hardpressed to find him deliberately causing injury to others, be it physical or emotional. Ultimately though, he is a ninja, and he understands what his job requires of him.

Without the weight of an objective though, Miran is a more quiet individual, and prefers to communicate using body language over words. What he does say generally serves a purpose, even if there is no 'deeper meaning'. An example of this would be his careless flirting, which is more a cover for the fact that he is a rather confused individual. Having been taught from infancy the myriad ways one should present themselves to others for a desired effect, there is always a lingering doubt that what he is doing is not 'real', and that he is decieving others. What he hasn't realized yet is that his fears have done a bit of a loop into reality, but he does genuninely enjoy giving compliments to others.

That asides, he is a fairly quick study, and picks up on things quickly, even if he is sometimes hesitant to put them into use if charkra is involved. Tying into his wishes to do no harm to allies is the constant sense of needing to be in control - both of his chakra, and his curiosity, both of which have lead to some rather extreme consequences. Due to this he is never seen upset or angry. Instead, he chooses to compartmentalize it away and ignore it until he is by himself, as his fear of losing control overwhelmes any urge to emote as one should. Whilst close friends and those more experienced may be able to pick up on his cues, to all, he tries to present a somewhat airheaded individual; distracted and occasionally rude but casual and fun to be around.

Background\\

The first time his parents looked to him and saw promise was when he was three, and entirely alright with some of his older cousins calling him 'little sister'. Born to a Shoushou mother (who had married into the Tenkou clan for reasons of her own), Miran had been exceedingly quiet child - a dangerous child. With vast stores of chakra but not the skill to control it, it was not uncommon for Miran's presence to signify the potential destruction of the things around him. Thus his parents despaired of his future, not only as a ninja, but as a civilian; with this sort of problem, it'd be hard for him to live a normal life at all. The only saving grace was that he always seemed to be in the eye of the storm; rarely was he injured, despite the damage he dealt.

So the first thing he learnt, right alongside talking and walking, were chakra control exercises. To the relief of all, his control improved immensely, and then later with his blase attitude towards gender...his parents decided it could be helpful to train him for something that could be done with no chakra. Under the tutelage of older ninja in the clan, Miran was taught how to arrange flowers, how to play an instrument; how to read body language, and lie and more. Though he enjoyed most of the lessons, he felt impatient to try more interesting things, more amazing things - ninjutsu! Of course, he rationalized, he couldn't start on any clan techniques, or even weather jutsu at all! He should start with something smaller, easier, and oh! This scroll right here - that's something small, right? At first things had gone fine; sure, a bit of damage at first, but with all that chakra control he'd done, there'd be no problems - he had things under control!

Miran did not, in fact, have things under control. He was a year from starting at the Academy when one of his secret experimentations with jutsu backfired horribly. A technique for a wind barrier turned into a wild sphere of cutting wind out of his control. While he sat in the centre, unscathed and desperately trying to grab some kind of control, a close friend who had come to watch had gotten severely injured.

He ended up practising control techniques at home for another year - not that he minded - throwing himself headfirst into the studies at home. From that day, the only scrolls Miran opened spoke of the human body, of control, of techniques to surpress his chakra. Even when he finally did make it into the Academy, he was extremely careful about doing jutsu and the like - only if he was called upon, and only if he had to. The fact that he started late didn't matter as time passed; with the amount of theory that he had learnt at home, he was shifted back into the class that he would have been, and then into the grade above for his last year of the Academy. Graduating was not difficult, but getting along with his team was - working with the person you almost killed was, not the easiest thing. So he fell back on his lessons; deceive and distract, stay in the background, and before he knew it -

- years had passed, and he was still a genin.
