After meeting his future CDH mare and managing to persuade her to let go of him again, it was soon time for Jack to start his CDH handling lesson with Kai.
He had chosen the stallion Shuroi Fuya for Jack to have his lesson with and so they went to fetch him. Jack learned how to properly approch a CDH and learned how to behave when handling and saddling one, afterall they were proud creatures, who might react very hostile to being pulled around just like your random horse.

After saddling the stallion they went ahead for some actual riding. Jack discovered that riding a CDH was indeed different from most other horses he had ever ridden.
Kai told him that they were not like nightmares, whom you never could trust completely, because their personality would always be to strong, CDHs were not like hototos either, who also had strong personalities, but still were gentle and enjoyed to make their human happy. A CDH was proud and independant, but would gladly work together with but never for you.

"Riding is always about teamwork, but CDHs are probably one of the most strict breeds, when it comes to demanding being trained as a partner and not a mount . . .", something between a neigh and a roar suddenly made Kai stop in the middle of his scentance and also Jack stopped Shuroi Fuyu to look where that noise was coming from.
All three guys soon discovering it was the CDH mare, who was standing at the fence of her meadow, neighing and spitting fire in a most desperate way.

"Yeah . . . I guess it's a good time for you to start riding her . . .", Kai merely mumbled.
