Description
The white sand beaches of Kelpe are very well known as one of the best places to swim. The water is clear and warm. There is no ocean life or seaweed than can be dangerous and the high salt content of the water makes swimming very easy. Sand from the beaches is said to have a “memory” because when it is melted down to make glass, shifting purple hues appear. Light filtered through the glass becomes purple and mimics the effect of sunlight on the ocean. These windows have been discontinued because they can cause visual impairments if looked at too long, although there are still 100s of pieces auctioned on art collection markets.
