About a month ago (the day after it came out) I saw the movie '9' and absolutely loved it. True, it was kind of sad, but the characters were very endearing and the animation was stunning.

Anyways, since I liked the movie so much, I decided to try making my own stitchpunk. I realize that there are many other fan-made characters named 13, so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't bug me about that. I'm not taking credit for the number, just this specific stitchpunk.

Height: Average, around the same height as 9 (I don't like trying to figure out measurements )

Talents: 13 is very skilled with his hands as well as being fairly intelligent. He can build complex gadgets with the limited materials around him.

Likes: Building gadgets and occasionally toys for the younger stitchpunks; anyone that can look past his odd looks and accept him for who he is; the company of others; peace;

Dislikes: Violence; fighting; being judged by his looks; memories of his past life;

Fears: The Fabrication Machine; being shunned by the other stitchpunks; others dying for his mistakes; being alone;

Weaknesses: 13 is an inventor, not a fighter. He hates violence, and would rather hide than fight. It's only when others are in serious danger that his courage can shine through.

History: Before 13 was a stitchpunk, he was Jack Oaks, a young, struggling scientist.
When the government started commissioning scientists to create new inventions to help the nation prosper, Jack was eager to join the bandwagon.
While none of Jack's inventions managed to gain the interest of the Chancellor, he was one of the few scientist chosen to build the body of the Fabrication Machine. Jack, like many others, believed it would be a tool for success, not destruction.
Jack's role model was always the Scientist who created the B.R.A.I.N., though he never got the opportunity to work with him.
When the Chancellor seized the B.R.A.I.N., Jack was there to make sure it remained undamaged when it was transported. Jack felt a lingering sense of guilt, but he couldn't disobey his superior's orders. In the commotion of the seizure, many of the Scientist's blueprints were taken.
Jack managed to get ahold of one blueprint in particular. It was an earlier design for the Scientist's stitchpunks, early and still undeveloped, but a blueprint just the same. Unaware of what he had, Jack took the blueprint home.
For months Jack struggled to figure out the design of the blueprint, making model after model in his one room apartment. As he didn't have the full information, he could never figure out a strong enough power source for his creations. With his 13th model done, Oaks was killed by the war machines.
Somehow, Jack's soul remained. Perhaps it was luck, or maybe it was fate's way of giving him a second chance. Either way, his soul took up residence in 13.
When 13 awoke, he found himself in a post apocalyptic world with all his memories completely intact. 13 decided to take advantage of his new life and set things right.

Personality: 13 has no mouth, making him a mute. Despite this, 13 has found other ways to communicate. He keeps a journal of his life, which he doesn't let anyone look at.
13 can sometimes seem clumsy and awkward, but what he lacks in grace, he makes up for in intellect. When he's not writing, he's usually working on a new invention. Occasionally he journeys out into the emptiness to scavenge parts for his projects.
13 thrives in a group, even if he seems awkward in a group setting. He craves the companionship of other stitchpunks. When alone, 13 becomes nervous and anxious. He will start scratching the walls with his sharp fingers or pacing out of nervous habits.
