PERSONALITY/HISTORY/HANDLER'S NOTES

Quiet | Jokester | Affectionate | Excitable | Erratic | Determined
Ozzy is a quiet stallion with a heart of gold. He's known for being a playful jokester around the barn and causing trouble wherever he goes, though it's all harmless fun and it's his way of trying to play (such as stealing brushes/halters/blankets/stall toys/keys/cell phones/etc). He's incredibly affectionate towards most people (has a soft spot for his regular rider and kids) despite everything he's endured though he has a few boundaries. He's very protective over his feed and it's the only time staff has witnessed him acting extremely aggressive towards horses and staff that try to move the bucket or take it from him. Under saddle he requires a bit of warm up beforehand since he always has a ton of get up and go in him and can be easily excitable, always wanting to stay moving. If in uncomfortable situations, he tends to get defensive and can definitely lash out in an attempt to protect himself and anything nearby he holds dear. He can be a tad erratic both in hand or under saddle if something scares him or if he's incredibly hyper but he's easy to calm down. He's incredibly determined and won't stop until he makes Astrid proud somehow as he quickly advances through their training with ease, reaching near Grand Prix Dressage movements and Grand Prix Show Jumping heights.

HISTORY
Ozzy was wild caught near the Nile River on September 22nd, 2017 as a 4 year old bachelor stallion. He was sold to a Tennessee Walking Horse farm that purchased him after the seller provided fake papers that listed him as a Tennessee Walking Horse. Unfortunately the farm he was sold to practiced soring techniques on his fetlocks with kerosene and chains so he could perform the 'Big Lick'. He developed sores on his fetlocks, the hair wearing away from his fetlocks. His wild nature and temperament caused him to break out of the small stall they'd put him in and roamed the wild for a little over a year before the stable caught him again and decided to cut their losses and put him up for sale. Rosewood quickly bought the stallion to rehabilitate for their Three Day Eventing program and to get him out of his situation.
On July 14th, the anxious stallion arrived on Rosewood grounds with soring chains on his legs and immediately was checked over by a veterinarian who concluded that he had been sored in the past and with time and care that the soring scars would fade but never completely go away. After suspicions were raised, a blood test was conducted. He was discovered to be a Iblis Warmblood and his previous history was uncovered. Afterwards, Astrid took on Ozzy as a training project and show mount and began their training together.

   Fears: Leg Wraps/anything touching his legs and Clippers
   Hates Farriers (they're just too close to his legs for comfort - must be bribed with treats to keep him distracted)
