Description
Not really my most original creation, just search DA for many versions of the Lady Loki headdress.
I was asked to make this one with a strong basis to some of the original comic-book art, and some touches to the
film version.
Detailing and back

The base is mesh wire and fiberglass, covered with bondo and magic sculpt.
The horns took me 2 months of procrastinating. I had wooden block that could be screwed to the head base, and got a sturdy wire for each one to make the core.
I was hesitant to use straight magic sculpt for the horns, though. I finally found some hard insulation/foam block, jig sawed out the horns, whittled and sanded that foam to shape, and then melted a trench in each horn to lay that aforementioned wire in. I gorilla glued that in place, then dipped light cotton cloth in resin glue, and wrapped that around each horn. The result was something like a shell over the foam, and I could sand it smooth and fill defects with bondo.
Viola. Watch for it at Dragon Con.
Mine uses elastic headbands as well/ There several things I wanted to to differently, and will change in future versions.
But I am truly pleased with the results, and best of all?
It weighs only 15 ounces.
