Description This was the fastest ink job yet over Dave Finch. Probably 6 or 7 hours in total. I had a great brush going into it and I am SOOOOO much more efficient when my tools aren't fighting me. Unfortunately, that brush has gone on to brush heaven, and I'm back to struggling my way through my day to day work. I've said it before--quality art supplies are worth their weight in gold.

Thanks for sharing such a great page! The monocle looks like the moon over Batman's head, which puts a lot more emotion into his and the girls' pose, as if they were outside under a full moon at midnight. But, maybe that' just me! Great job!

What is all that stuff on Batman's gloves...
knuckle armor in case he has
to flick someone real hard and
he won't hurt his fingers.????

Doesn't all that kind of stuff slow down the artist?

ANYWAY...

Great freakin ink job.
Im jealous....

How long are you making the atypical brush last these days? Im pretty tough on mine. Oh, sick inks, BTW. Bastard.

INKIST In reply to TimTownsend [2011-01-08 06:42:36 +0000 UTC]

Brushes, like most art supplies these days, suck. So, being the pack rat that I am, I kept dozens of brushes over the years that while not perfect at the time, didn't suck, and I have been recycling them. Don't know what I am going to do when they're gone. A REALLY good brush can last me 80-100 pages, but that's rare. I feel pretty fortunate to get 40 pages out a brush most of the time, and have had some brushes die within a page or two.

I know exactly what you mean. I stashed some away over the years but have finally run out of them. I just dont understand why one of the major companies cant just kick it in reverse and make some old school brushes. People like us would pay at least double the going rate. They'd make a killing! Same with ink, erasers, paper, etc.

Indeed they are. Shame that you never really know when you actually find a brush that good; if so you'd have bought a bunch of them. Happens to me all the time. Gj btw

This cover is simply amazing..and you're about an artist's tools. I think that applies to anyone that does anything professionally for a long period of time. Ranging from computers to the programs we use on them.

I could fill in big black shapes just as good as Scott Williams. Its doing all the cool little hatching thats the hard part.
