Description "Lestrade, the box says the doll runs on batteries, but the victim is holding the only available pair in her hands, then how can the doll possibly---...Lestrade? John...? Where are you?"

Perhaps Dean and Sam Winchester have a better hand at dealing with shit like these lol

---------------------------------

AHHH MEMORIES

A huge high five for those who recognize this character through a wave of nostalgia because they were scared shitless watching this when they were young

I first watched Child's Play when I was 4 (yeah I know, it couldn't get any worse) and regarded Chucky as the scariest thing to ever show its face on earth. I guess I have a really strange relationship with this movie because it is both nostalgic and bittersweet to reflect back on, but at the same time Chucky's face is drilled deep into my brain so hauntingly I don't think I'll ever completely forget it xD Though by 'haunting' I probably meant in terms of its existence and less about it actually scaring me every now and then. Because I have known this character for so long now, it's as if he's a building block of my childhood ROFL so yeah. Neighbours.

Now I am so excited since I JUST heard that this series could be adapted into a remake and be released around 2012/13 (yes I know I'm slow |||OTL)

Child's Play theme song! [link] It is actually a very beautiful piece and not creepy at all FFFFF I barely remembered the movie ever having a theme though since I watched it so long ago ;___;

Truth be told I think Sherlock is one of the rare shows in which ANYTHING can be crossed with it and it'll make sense LOL. The other one of course, is Doctor Who

I'm so sure Sherlock would have owned a psychopathic doll that frequently went on murdering sprees, the results of which Sherlock would then be sent to investigate.
You portrayed this beautifully.

Dear G-d.

I'm 41 years old and never watched the Chucky movie, but I did have a Bozo the Clown ventriloquist doll that scared the beejabers outta of me when I was a child in the 70's.

Two fears in one. Clowns and psychopathic dolls.

It probably would look funny if I am to watch it now, but GOD, I swear I couldn't look at a doll for a month after first watching it all those years ago LOL. I am starting to actually suspect Chucky is the first entity to introduce me to the concept of the supernatural pfff

I watched it when I wasn't little enough for it to scare me... cause I never saw a horror movie until I was 13. So by the time I watched it it was REALLY old and just funny to me. Plus I never had proper dolls either, just stuffed animals haha
(I do however have an attic door in the roof of my closet so The Grudge FREAKED THE SHIT OUT OF ME!) LOL

LOL OMG DON'T EVEN. MENTION. THE GRUDGE ROFLLLLL I mean, god, that movie scared the hell out of all of us despite the fact we were watching it at school during lunch in a room FULL of people and the sun shining outside the window. IT HAD THAT KIND OF AN EFFECT ROFL, not to mention we weren't even watching the restricted Japanese version, just the...normal Japanese version FFFF

I was watching in a dark room... with my best friend... and her cat started scratching the couch... we freaked out and turned around, but the cat had run across the room and was staring at us from the hall... FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU- then all our friends were like 'pft, the Grudge isn't even scary' (-_-')

You know what, I first watched it AT THE SAME AGE AS YOU.

My uncle Ian is a big jerk, told me it wasn't scary, "Chucky's a good guy doll."

I still haven't forgiven him.

FFFFF

Yeah I swear man, watching stuff like this so young ain't good for health LOL. Adults didn't force me to watch it though, it was this friend of mine who is basically like, fearless, yeah I don't even know what's up with her LOL but she watched the most gruesome things at such a young age and her parents never restricted her on this o_o So basically it was she who forced me to watch it with her LOL ;;;;

Haha, I always avoided the horror section at all costs back when I was little XD It was sad because back then I was still in Hong Kong and believe me, Asian horror movies are 100 times scarier o_o Not to mention their cover art on CDs are always so...horribly creative *shudders*

eight0fhearts In reply to inklou [2011-08-31 05:26:15 +0000 UTC]

I was scarred for life when I went out to get a drink of water when I was little, and caught sight of a vampire movie on the television. For years afterwards I slept with the covers pulled up around my neck.

You lived in Hong Kong? Awesome I've never seen any Asian horror movies. Unless The Host counts, but I've only seen bits of it.

And... CDs? I've never seen that, lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inklou In reply to eight0fhearts [2011-09-01 04:22:18 +0000 UTC]

Oops, I meant VCDs LOL//fail

Haha the Host was cool, but it's the traditional black haired white robed women seen in Chinese legends that scares the hell out of me XD

Cantonese films especially are kind of an interesting spectacle because virtually almost every single director tend to add in color filters to enhance the overall environment regardless of what genre the movie is set in. And it's also because the streets in HK are always so gritty, you tend to get this creepy haunted effect without even trying LOL. I think that is partly why Asian horror movies are scarier in my opinion XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

eight0fhearts In reply to inklou [2011-09-04 10:34:06 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, I see XD

I've never seen a Cantonese film XD But I've never really paid much attention to colour as adding to the mood, though now that I think about it it makes sense. I'll have to watch out for that next time I watch a movie.

I find ghosts really scary.... and that Korean webcomic thing scared me XD I also find it scary when you have to avoid being touched or infected by something which is why I was terrified by the Empty Child episode of Doctor Who XP

Have you watched the Let's Kill Hitler episode? Came out yesterday in Australia, not sure about other countries. I found it a bit disappointing XP

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inklou In reply to eight0fhearts [2011-09-05 06:39:12 +0000 UTC]

omg I STILL have to watch the Empty Child ;___; I blame Sherlock reruns for making me miss it LOL //shot

Yeah, I watched Let's Kill Hitler, and it was a tad disappointing >: I kinda wish they'd do something more about Hitler himself than just shoving him into a closet, despite how hilarious that was XD I know they definitely wouldn't kill him off or else the timeline wouldn't make sense, but it'd still be fun to humiliate him nevertheless The flashback with Amy, Rory, Mel was GREAT though, totally satisfied my craving for more Amy/Rory fluff

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

eight0fhearts In reply to inklou [2011-09-05 08:34:45 +0000 UTC]

You haven't seen the Empty Child? Ahhh it's the best one by Moffat. hehe.

I know... Hitler was barely in the episode. And young Rory was so cute XD At first I really hated Mels because she seemed a lot like a Mary Suish OC that someone would write on fanfiction... but after it was revealed that she was River Song I liked her XD

I haven't liked the last season so far... too many confusing plot lines XP Although I love the eleventh Doctor and his companions I miss how in the first few season they went off and had adventures and saved planets and stuff. Now they seem to kind of... angst around trying to figure out what's going on. But that's just my opinion.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inklou In reply to eight0fhearts [2011-09-05 23:04:32 +0000 UTC]

I am still a tad confused though, so does that mean Amy and Rory had been hanging out with their daughter in disguise the whole time? D:

Oh, I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that ;_; I was feeling a little uneasy about voicing this out loud though because many others seem to like this new season a lot. For some reason this season didn't have an impact on me...something just seemed a little off, I don't know how to describe it ): I really miss series 5, it has some of the best episodes in it that really involves cunning logic on behalf of the Doctor and touching moments between him and Amy. This season however, seems to have lacked some of its charm, the logic presented felt stretched, the storyline rushed and a little too cramped.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

eight0fhearts In reply to inklou [2011-09-06 10:18:20 +0000 UTC]

I... have no idea I'm confused too!

I agree... I liked eleven's first series but this one has been disappointing. Much as I like River Song, it seems to be really centered on her more than on the Doctor. And the story line is getting kinda... weird and a bit unbelievable (even though Doctor Who's not mean to be super realistic, it's going a bit far). Like the Astronaut episode (can't remember it's name, first one this series) was really confusing and had too many things going on at once.

On a random note today I saw Benedict Cumberbatch in the newspaper and his hair was really light brown and I'm used to seeing him with Sherlock hair... so I got a random shock.

I just bought the entire 5th series DVD set of DW in Future Shop and costed me a whopping $70 bucks FFFFFFFFFFFFF. But it was worth it, so much extra features and I'm totally submerged in nostalgic reruns right now

Yeah! Was he attending some sort of ceremony? I think I might have seen him on Tumblr too! Everyone likes him with darker hair, but I also like his short-hair look, makes him seem 10 years younger for some reason HAHA.

I just watched Night Terrors 8D It was much better than Let's Kill Hitler. Mark Gatiss is awesome 8D

Oooh, cool 8D By 5th series do you mean Matt Smith's first season, or David Tennant's extra 5-episode season thing? I always get confused with the series numbers Haha extra features sound good... all the interviews and previews on the Doctor Who website don't work in Australia, sadly I don't have many of the DVDs but... I do have all 11 incarnations of the Doctor action figures 8D!

Haha yeah... I didn't know that he was also going to be in the Hobbit... and Martin Freeman is going to be in the main role as Bilbo! *excited* I can't wait.
