^ Because this group is amazing. ;v;
Hey guys! So uh.. this is what's been occupying pretty much all of my art-time over the past two and a half weeks. I meant to start it much earlier, but I severely underestimated how busy I'd be, based on how empty my calendar was, because suddenly studying and homework ohgods.
But it's alright, because it's done now and I am super ridiculously happy with this. ;u;
For those of you who haven't heard of FAP (#FreeArt-Project ) before, basically it's sort of like.. a monthly Secret Santa? Each participant is assigned a partner to do some art for.. and this month, I got *DatMarmaladeFox ! Sooo this be her character, Chiima, with a Halloween theme. C:
I got the idea to dress her up as a policewomanfox after reading her personality bio, particularly after the phrase "she loves feeling powerful mentally and sometimes physically." Because position of power and authority, man. :b Also sassy and saucy and lmao I totally just imagined her strutting around with all dat attitude on Halloween night heheh. |DD
I do hope I got everything in her design right! ouo; Painting in those markings was sooo much fun yeeee. ;3;
I'm not really sure where the background idea came from, honestly.. I just kind of. Doodled a lamp-tree and decided to roll with it? Though it helped that I really wanted to draw a tree again because omg shading trees is so much fun. ;UUUU;
Also I have a thing for drawing lanterns too and I have no idea why, they're just super fun to do. xD;
I'm also really happy with the direction my fur shading is going in, and this time I took notes on what brush sizes I used so I won't keep forgetting and changing it up constantly. :b
Though my style /is/ a bit inconsistent this time around, heh. I missed my soft shading PS brushes, and probably spent waaaaay more time on this than I should have but.
I DO NOT REGRET A THING, this was super fun to draw and I'm really glad I decided to take part in FAP this month!

oh my god, haha you have no idea how excited I was to receive that. Every fap I had done was a disappointment. Either the people messed up what I wanted, or my chars design, or they just didn't draw for me at all so getting this amazing piece of boss was just the icing on a 200ft cake made of rainbows and happiness.
I'm so glad you like my character, I love her too, and you definately did her justice. The anatomy, the expression, EVERYTHING is perfect : ) Her personality definitely shows through.
Things are totally amazing for me, I hope things are just as wonderful for you regardless of your 'life reasons'

you took a break from DA? Yeah, that's always a good thing to do to just get time to sort things out. Things get difficult pretty quickly and if there's too much going on, it just takes a toll on your mental and even physical health. It's an overall bad scene.
I'm glad my comments make you smile like they do : ) I know I love receiving enthused comments. It makes my day sometimes, especially when they're comments on commissions!
Yeah, people haven't drawn me stuff before and it's just been silly and unfortunate for me...
