Yes, thank you!!! *huggles* A seme Vincent...at last!!! *cries*
I love the beautiful, broad strokes you have used in your peice, making the characters look fantastic. The lighting is great as well, mostly on Vincent's hand. *shivers*
Very creepy, and the intensity there really gives it a edge. One is not show if Vincent is going to kill Cid or pounce him...me for the latter, of course.^^ Favs!

Ahhh *happy content sigh* Yes, I agree with Vincent being the so-called dominant seme in these boys' relationship. Mostly because I adore a Cid uke, but that's beside the point-_^ I totally agree with Vincent=Turk=man of strong character! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL art, I'm in awe of the color scheme and how it goes so well with Vince and Cid. Hope to see more of them, but everything you draw it awesome....soooooo, no complaints here -_^

Anywho....
This is beautifully creepy. Ink and Watercolors are still far beyond me, (but I'm learning, dammit!) so it makes me all the happier to see someone who can use them. I love the little details on Cid's jacket and Vincent's headband and the like. And as much as I like Vincent, he was quite the idiot. I'm not gonna go so far as to say that he deserved to be shot and experimented on, but he should have been at least a bit more careful.

yup yup, poor ol' vincent. abusing him is always fun. i think this picture demonstrates that. nya.

i thought they were both males anyway, they look it and it seems to make sence. there apears to be a lot of tension in this picture anger in vince and disgust in cid (or the other way round) why is this, please explain. once again you continue to amaze. what goes on in your sick twisted litle mind....me that is what. i control all those little levers and switches, looking in glee at my machination...........(in my mind). anyway thats a damn fine picture. can we have a picture of the turk kneeling, crying and in the background there stands vince.

Guh! -squee!-
That is so sexy. And really, I'm more of a CidxVin fan, but I'm glad you like to stress that Vincent is, indeed, male. I hate how most doujin artists draw him all whiny, and not wanting sex, or the like. He's male, he was a Turk, he shares his body with four demons ... he's not some PMSing bitch.
I personally can't see him being dominant in any relationship after what happened with Lucrecia, but that's just me. Of course, I write him being all abused/molested by Hojo post being shot, so he's pretty screwed up, and broken, so I suppose whatever is one's take on what happened to him while being experimented on changes one's outlook on him.
And onto the topic of Vincent being an evil Turk ... I dunno if I really consider the Turks evil, per se. Perhaps, misunderstood. They had a job to do, and they did it well. However, you have to take into account the present Turks. They weren't really that evil. Of course, I believe that the Turks more or less slacked off over the years
I have a weird take on the whole ordeal, though. I don't view Vincent as a saint like so many do, however I can't see him as being evil either. Just ... kind of a lost soul who did what he did, and paid for it. Karma maybe ... I dunno, I pity him. I also pity Hojo, though.
I think I view Vincent in the same light I would a Mafiso assassin. Someone who was well paid for taking out threats, and yet probably kept a rosary with him. Yeah, if there were Western religions in the world of FFVII, Vincent would definately be Catholic. In fact, I basically write him having a lot of Catholic guilt, and am currently working on a pic of him holding a rosary.
It also works well with his reaction to the experimentation. He was fine with taking the lives of those deemed threatening to ShinRa, however viewed experimentation on an unborn child immoral.
Do I think he took pleasure in killing? To an extent, yes. It wasn't just some job that he did because he had to ... he had to have had some interest in it.
But once again, I have a weird view on Vincent. I try to be ambiguous about a lot of things concerning him, while being very blatant about others. Sometimes I consider him very innocent sexually, hence his attachment to Lucrecia, and others I view him as being very sexual, with a slew on one-night-stands, with both sexes, on top, on bottom, living in a world of carnal pleasure. Perhaps, he's both at once, innocent of love, yet very experience sexually. We learn so little about his past in the game, so it's left to speculation, imagination, and theories. And maybe I spend far too much time analyzing him. Who knows ...
I should just write an essay on Vincent sometime. Anyway ... I adore this very much. Lovely work, as always.
You're quickly becoming my favourite artist, dahling.

you're so interesting! gah i much love you. *bear hugs you for the fav* well, on the issue of vincent being dominant i quite agree, i as the ol' adage goes 'dom in the turks, sub in the norms' which i think you'll agree is fair. but i wanted to go against public opinion here, just for a bit of a change. don't ask me why! don't ask the simple villiage idiot!
i always see vincent as being massively disturbed in childhood and youth, and put into the turks somewhat against his will. but as they say, power corrupts, and lack of power corrupts absolutely. i think partially why vincent is so consumed bu regret in later years is that he did bad things in the turks, before nibelheim. well make of that what you will.
i think vincent was a bit corrupt. i think he took his authority for granted. i also think he wasnt there to protect the scientists, but to threaten them... ahh, i dont know! poor ol' vincent - he'll always be a violent autosadist to me.

Vincent's childhood ... yet another area I've spent to much time analyzing. Most authors write Vincent as having come from the streets, however he seems too well educated for that. I figure he was the son of a fairly well to do couple who was pushed during his youth to be an over achiever. He was probably pulled out of highschool early and sent into Turk training, thus seperating him from his peers. His childhood was probably full of criticism, and loneliness.
When finally in a position of power, he probably found himself teetering very close to an emotional and mental breakdown because of all the pressure that had been placed on him as a child. That said, he probably was rather ruthless initially, always trying to prove himself.
Gradually, he became merely efficient, much like Tseng.
And sadist ... hmm ... I kinda of view Vincent as being a masochist. It's almost as though he wanted what he got, and really had no interest in anyone ever taking away the pain.

autosadist, baby! that means you love inflicting pain on yourself! there's a difference. mainly the auto prefix - ooh look at me, sounding like a proper english teacher with my silly knowledge. unstoppable, that's what i am!
totally with you on the streets point. like, no, mischevious authors, calm yourselves. vincent isn't exactly the epitome of ghetto cool, is he? he's not exactly 50 cent. his life isnt the polygon version of 8 mile, or anything. i mean, reno on the other hand, that i can believe in. i can visualise the rap battles and trailer park house.
vincent, i hate to say it, is a social reject. mental breakdown? yeah, o' course. makes mucho sense. mental in later life? oh, come on. i want to say 'yes' because i know it's so very true. hellmasker....represents his insanity, doesnt it? yeah, rewind! proper bo.

-snickers- We're insane, you know.
And yes, Reno is definately from the streets. He was slum shit, probably sold himself as a teen.
And Vincent is definately insane. Remember the sudden maniacal laughter on the Highwind? I hate it how people write Vincent as being completely normal after being locked up in a coffin for over two decades. He is insane, he was always insane. He's just more insane after the fact.
Do I think Vincent could walk back into the world of the living after the destruction of Meteor? Not a chance. If anything, he most likely went back to the coffin and/or committed suicide, provided he could even die.
If anything, he completely went insane.
I can't see him moving on with his life, because in all right he should have died 30 years before. He needs to die. Death would be a release.
And everyone's always, 'OMG! You're so mean. You killed Vinny-chan!'
Yes, yes. I did. I killed him, and I don't regret it, because he'd want it that way. I don't want to write any of that happy bullshit about him discovering a purpose in life. I want him to suffer till he finally snaps and eats the end of a shotgun.
Yes, I'm twisted. Thank you.

we're as bad as vincent you know. he's twisted in the head. but i always think of vincent as being unable to die, but unable to live. at least with avalanche his life had some sort of purpose, even if it was only to destroy hojo (a stupid move if you ask me, since hojo was the only one able to reverse the entire process) but vincent is rash. consumed in his own agony. and entirely insane. yeah i remember the abrupt manical laughter. i know i certainly wasnt laughing. i was FRIGHTENED.
i think it's really ironic that vincent is trapped in his body and unable to kill himself... because his body is beautiful, but what lies beneath... is hideous, you know? its well...chaos. i think that the choice of monsters for his transformations greatly belie his inner self. come on, galian = rage, frankenstein = social inadequacy, hellmasker = insanity, and as if the direct embodyment of his deepest most limbic mind, chaos....
disagree with the whole, 'and then vincent married tifa, and all was happy ever after' - it's badly characterised drivel, isn't it? either he goes mental and starts killling his so called friends, or he sleeps for eternity after attempting suicide.

Yes, I figure he's more or less immortal. Though, I think of him on the elf immortality scale. Unable to die of natural causes ... however, I think a nice gun shot wound to the head at point blank range might do the trick.
In any case, he's not going to have a normal, happy life.
And yes, I totally agree with you on the demons. They are the embodiement of himself and his fears. I always figured they were the embodiement of what he truyl viewed himself as.
And surprisingly, VinxTifa fanfiction has some of the greatest Vincent characterization ... however, they blow it to hell by making him eventually go for Tifa. Ah well ... I'm happy in my little world of HojoxVin torture.
And wow, I didn't write a novel as a comment this time. Could have something to do with the Vincent moving on rant I wrote in my blog before I went to bed this morning. Got out all my frustrations before the fact. Or perhaps because I'm not supposed to be wasting time on line at the moment, and taking care of campus woes, instead.
Hmm ... I think I'll post the rant in my DA journal, as well. Since my blog's protected, thus depriving everyone without clearance of my inane, early morning rantings.
