The texture and background are simple, but complementing, they do not overpower. The hands and body look equally realistic.

That's just... /neat/. I love the hand idea.
Only suggestion is maybe give it more shading so the hands could "pop out" more (But I know color pencils can be stubborn when it comes to shading). Otherwise, this is one interesting piece to look at.
