I'm not sure I understand your question. If you're asking for the purpose of the killing it really depends on the animal you are referring to. It can be anywhere from population control to regulation. Most ranch foxes are farm raised and usually euthanized through the blue needle. The purpose can vary drastically. A lot are actually taken for their fur for the garment industry (one I do not agree with). The man we work with to get these specific foxes breeds them for pets and are humanely put down once they are sick, some die naturally of heart failure and other illnesses, or can no longer produce. Again, it all depends who and what. No animals I know of are killed to be stuffed (for taxidermy purposes). Hope that helps!

that is good. I agree with that thank you very much I just dont like the trapping of wilf foxes or fur farms much ( though i know they are better then what the TV makes them out to be, it is still not great) But i think if something dies naturally, it is ok. I have always , if i must be honest, looks down at Taxidermy but i supose doing the reasearch Β have done tonight i can see how it really does have 2 sides to it, not what i thought at all at the start

It's a very conflicting and hard business to explain to people. Although some taxidermists may be hunters, taxidermy and hunting/farming/trapping are two very different trades. We are in it for the artistry and beauty of the preservation process. Although we do still care where our fur comes from and many people will only work with humane furs. Once you get past the sensitive side of it, there's so much beauty in it to see and share. I always suggest poking around, you never know what you might find!

I'm glad you do. I hope that maybe in the future you'll learn to truly appreciate it and when you recognize it, recognize the beauty in it.

'Poor girl's getting a bit shabby; maybe we should save her for dusters.'

'Huh. You mean she wasn't made FROM dusters?'

Didn't think so,. Dusters are shabby bits of leftover cloth, rags, used to wipe dust and grease from things. Us poor people recycle old clothes as dusters.

Yes, but she fell apart during the mounting process and at this time, her pelt isn't holding any stitches. Just not a lucky fox.
