I'm fond of many breeds, but I do understand the appeal of pit bulls. It's a shame that so many people have a negative perception of them.
This dog was possibly mixed with a boxer, but I didn't get the chance to ask the owner.

Most definitely. I can tell you how many arguments I've gotten into with people over them. I try not to argue but I'm the type of person that, I guess you could say, fights for what I believe in and stands up for it. They're definitely my favorite breed of dog, Pit Bulls and Rottweilers.
I'd say he's a Pit Bull/Boxer mix but that's just my opinion and my guess lol

Many people can't be convinced; it's easier to hate. Where I live, they've actually banned both the pit bull & Rottweiler. In the nearby city, they have strict rules for keeping them.

Yeah I've heard of places doing that. I know for a fact that Denver, Colorado and Miami, Florida. In Miami though, they're trying to lift it but haven't been successful in doing so. Plus, there's been other places. I've also seen that a lot of landlords for apartments and houses allow pets but ban, as they put it, "vicious" breeds that include Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, etc. I'm just so sick of it, though. Any dog can be "vicious" if they're trained that way or there's something wrong in their bloodline. Its been proven that Labs and Golden Retrievers bite more than Pit Bulls do. Also, Pit Bulls were once called Nanny Dogs and were bred for protection and guards for families and their kids. I've seen more stories about Dalmatians attacking kids more than Pit Bulls, or any other breed for that matter.

We have a mastiff, who's a gentle giant. However, if a stranger tries to enter the house -- especially a male -- she'll attack. Some dogs have strong protective instincts.
Once a label is applied to certain breeds, it just gets embedded in people's minds. It's a shame. People see pit bulls, & make a snap judgment.

Yeah. Its very frustrating. Any dog can be aggressive for any reason. To me, its like saying all people of one race or religion are murderers or criminals.

That makes it extra amazing that you were able to get such a great shot. It's hard to get my dogs to sit still long enough for a photo and if I do, it's very rare I'm able to get a straight on shot like that.

Definitely provide lots of friendship, loyalty and smiles. I can't imagine not having them even if they are frequently pains in the butt. Hard to be in a bad mood with these cute faces around. Best part of the day is coming home to them.

So many people don't understand animals, especially pit bulls. They think that they are monsters, but it is only certain ones because of their OWNERS mistreating them.
Great photo, he is a beautiful and happy dog.

What a handsome and happy dog! I have a pit bull too. She's a shy, skittish dog but once she gets used to a person, she's very friendly and loves to smile at them.

my dogs are hopeless with tricks...for farm dogs, the only thing they do is bark at birds...

How many farm dogs do you have?
Hopefully, they're good at driving off potential predators.

We have 2. If they see a predator, they either bark or run. Most of the time the worst predator to come would be a snake, and even then, they just bark at it. Or run.

yes, it seems to be. I wonder if they like watching us tripping over their holes....
I'm not much of a dog person, I prefer cats over them but if I was to choose a
chicken or a cat, I would choose the chicken. Chickens dig holes too, but make up
for it with their cuteness :3
If there's one thing I dislike about dogs, it's their tendency to lick. It's almost like i'm
their ice cream popsicle or something, they just never stop licking me. Especially when
i'm unaware. I know it's a friendly thing....I just find it disgusting when they roll in something
dead and lick me.... D:

Yeah, I guess. I just can't get past the round cootsy-wootsy-ness of my chickens <3
I guess the thing I can't get past the most is the fact that there is usually a 50% chance
of dead rat germs when i'm hugging my cat. She also dissects her prey and leaves:
a. the guts (and lots of blood smears)
b. the head
c. the tail
d. the bottom half of the rat
Very very occasionally, if I'm really lucky, she'd leave the whole rat.
Without fail, she would wake as many people up as she could, so we would
congratulate her. And also without fail, she would leave the remains on the front
doorstep mat. It is really awkward when someone comes over at like 7:00am, before
we get a chance at disposal.
._.

hahahaha yes, it's funny how cats get away with it. If i mutilated my neighbour's flower garden and stuck the remains on their front doorstep i'm sure they'd love me.
I think I would rather know how to hunt. Everyone shares remains.

They're actually a banned breed of dog in this city, unfortunately. It sucks how the laws can reflect the baseless fears of the public.

That's a shame, they can be such good animals
And it does suck, people make decisions based on emotional thinking rather than hard evidence...
