The bg is rainbow colored (except for the ending where it looks like orange, but it's red & then I was supposed to put orange after, but I accidentally put yellow) for my support of Gay, Bisexual & Lesbian Pride . . .Explanation: Two girls, crying, mouths sealed shut with tape, title "Speak" would be society or whomever telling them to Speak about what they care about/what they help stand for(?) but they can't because their mouths are sealed shut...yup.
^The idea sounded good to me at first...I'm just a bad explainer, I bet someone else could explain it WAY better & make the meaning/concept or whatever sound really good.
^PS: If someone could put it in a really good way to explain how I just explained my pic, I'd ask for your permission to put it in my info, but put ur name saying that u wrote it underneath...that'd be great if someone could word it really fabulous and meaningful sounding to me lol. xD <--even that sounds really bad, haha! xDDD

PSSS: (lol) Umm...I tried to color the mic w/silver gel pen, but then it ran out of ink and then I tried again w/another one, but I couldn't draw the dash marks on the mic part, sooo yeah, it kinda looks bad. xD
PSSSS: (omg...how many "PS's" with extra S's do I hafta write lol?! I guess I just have a lot to say) Umm...btw those blue streaks on the side of the girls are TEAR streak marks...TT^TT . . . It's kinda a fail lol

Here's what I get from this: The world wants people to speak their minds and be themselves, but then they turn around and discriminate against anyone who isn't straight just because that isn't "normal" so anyone who isn't heterosexual is forced to stay silent and can't love who they want. Hence the heart is grey and their mouths are taped closed. There is a lot of symbolism in this drawing.. I like it

That was just my concept, but I like your side too. It's nice & good to have opinions and thoughts from others towards your artwork!
I find it kind of funny, though, how I can draw symbolism in artwork and not be able to find certain symbolism in books or novels for school. I guess you could say having artwork be symbolic is easier though. x)

So I don't know if this is what you were thinking of when you made this, but it made me think of all the hypocrisy in the world. As you said, people are always telling us to stand up for what we believe in, however if they disagree then they try to shut us up again. They tell us to speak up, but they don't honestly want to hear it. They tell us to be who we are, but if they disagree then they want us to change ourselves into what they believe is right.
I don't know. That's just what I thought of it.
