You have Asriel and Flowey who could be any other form such as the God of Hyperdeath and Photoshop Flowey, not including the anthro/human looks. Then there’s Sans the only one that stands out more than the rest.
I don’t get that, but I do like the Photoshop Flowey as a anthro/human (whatever you call that form).
Also I been looking through all the work you made and I’m now wondering. Isn’t Asriel a boy and he’s in a relationship with Sans who’s also a boy. Doesn’t that mean they’re...you know or are they really close friends? Or did you change the gender of Asriel so they’re a female. Geez, now your making me wonder their friendship.

and yeah,
i ship sans and asriel with each other, and asriel is a boy, because i don't do gender bender.

but 62 chapters are really much, so here in short:
gaster (sans and papyrus father) worked as a royal scientist in the castle, he was friends with asgore and toriel.*
sans and asriel were around the same age**, maybe they meet in that time and became really good friends.
meantime, gaster fell in the core.
but as chara fell down and died later, asriel become flowey and abandoned everyone, because he can't feel anything.
another six children fell down -> means that much time had passed. they both grow up.
flowey is soulless, but i my opinion he can age, because he is still a monster, but no boss monster anymore -> don't need parents to age
they meet often, even before frisk's time, but sans doesn't recognize flowey as asriel, his old friend.
yes, they even fight eachother, because sans doesn't know it's his friend and flowey simply can't feel anything.
like in the fanfiction, sans discovered it sometimes, but before he can do something, flowey reset.
asriel's true form is his adult form and his child form/flower form is when he gets out of energy/souls, like in the game.
when they all reach the surface, frisk lives with toriel, but frisk goes back to the underground and fetch flowey so he can live with them together.
in my headcanon, he gets his old form back and asriel becomes friends with sans again. aaand then they started dating
* i like to think asgore and toriel raised gaster, like in zarlas handplates comic
** and here again, even in the handplates comic it's seeable, that asriel and sans must be around the same age, because asriel died already and sans is a child who gets his old clothes. proof: Some new threads
and here it is obviously, that sans is a kid when asriel had died: Barring some kind of quantum lava calamity
i know, handplates it's not canon, but it's really close to it X3
so yes, that's why i ship sans x asriel/flowey, i hope it's understandable
