History: Toru was born in Kumogakure to Tsuyoi Sumida and his wife Yuki Sumida, leaders of the Sumida clan. He has a 2-years younger brother named Mori. Toru lived a normal childhood, as the child of the clan leaders and the heir things were pretty much given to him as he pleased. At an early age he started intensive training and mastering of the kekkei genkai. He didn't have many other friends all due to his position in the clan, so he played with his younger brother which bonded them together. At the age of 5, on a cold night their clan residence was attacked and set on fire, Yuki managed to escape with Toru and Mori but his father wasn't able too. Toru was then left in Konohagakure and as he was all alone a couple took him in to give him shelter. Soon after the couple died during a mission and he was all alone. His dream is too finde his mother and brother.

It was an unknown clan for a long time until it started growing and gaining power with a merciless leader which made the clan drift apart from others. The Clan became less violent trough the years. Until Akarui Sumida became the leader. He started working on the clans image more until their lust for power disappeared. Throughout the history it was a very powerful and influential clan that lived as a community on the outskirts of Kumogakure. The clan residence was later on set on fire killing most of the members and forcing others to escape.
