Wow that is a long exposure, how do you prevent the tripod and camera from anything that could cause shake?

It's a 10 minute exposure so minor movements are eliminated by the long duration, but a sturdy tripod is a must.Β Mine has a hook atΒ the bottom of the center-columnΒ to add weight (usually my camera bag) for extra stability www.mefoto.com/uk/products/roaβ¦
And lens stabilizers should definitely be turned off.

Oh, do you use mirror lock up? I tend to use it for night shots, but on a recent trip I forgot to set it for long daytime exposures.
