Oh! I have a quick question for you. I know that you mentioned getting the Benny wig from Arda. I was originally going to get natural black, but I'm concerned it's too dark and that Dark Brown is too light. Mind helping me out? ^-^;

lol thank you. the wig in this photo is actually a "blue steele" in dark brown, but I photoshopped it darker. this photo is a bit dark, but this is my new natural black "benny": [link]
in my opinion, dark brown is far too light for sherlock. I didn't want black either since his hair isn't quite that dark. my recommendation is the natural black as it does have a bit of a dark brown sheen to it, especially in daylight.

Ugh.. unfortunately I ordered the dark brown. I love the wig, but it's a bit too light. I will most likely be dying it a bit darker. I have a curly iron that will make the curls again, so that's what I'll have to do. *sigh* I wish I saw this earlier!

Well, I've just purchased a "benny" from arda-wigs.com for my new Sherlock wig as I felt this one was a bit long and it seems to be the popular choice for Sherlock cosplayers. The one in this picture (also from arda), however, is a "Blue Steele" in dark brown (which comes straight and not curled) and was styled by ~TheFlyingGrayson who does in fact take commissions and will be helping me with my new Sherlock wig, too. Hope that helped!

yes, I recommend the "natural black" personally, I think it matches Sherlock's hair color better than the dark brown or black

Oh yes, I have a wig that is the "natural black" color I don't want a jet black color cuz his hair really isn't black, it's just a very dark brown.

Oh~ btw, while looking for cheaper wigs, just in case (I tend to use ebay) and found this: [link]

I'm thinking, if it can withstand certain heating temps, I might look into this one. It would need dyed darker brown/blackish and curled. But I'm thinking...if it's curled....it might be a bit too short in the back. What are your thoughts on it? (I don't know many Sherlock cosplayers or wig....knowing people to ask xD)

I can't really say for sure, it's always hard to judge the real length of wigs from ebay. It might be alright in the back, 'cause his hair sort of flips up in the back rather than curls as much as it does with his bangs. The reason I went with arda was for the volume and color, though. It's very natural and the amount of volume is great for cosplays that need a bit more fluff like I like to have for Sherlock.
I would ask my friend ~TheFlyingGrayson -she knows wigs pretty well, but that's my opinion
