Yep. I've seen many dudes come up with winning photos that had a good assortment of objects but nothing to make it look clustered. Overall it'd look simple yet you'd notice that without those props the whole photo would lose it's beauty.

I did a boudoir session during my most recent shoot, and I tried to take your advice to heart! I feel a lot of boudoir is too contrived; I tried to stay away from that by creating a believable setting, even though I was in a rented studio. I may take some time for me to post the images, but, when I do, I'd love to hear any critique or suggestions you have. Your comment about assorted objects made a huge impact on the way I view photography! Thank you so much for bringing this to light!

I'd love to see them.
My friend would be glad to hear she indirectly helped someone since she was the one telling me about it. And like you I've never really noticed it as much even though I knew about it.
Funny thing is she's not even a photographer or has any art skills!
