Description to that which you cannot have.

I have a tendency to have dreams that are so vivid I can't let them go unless I put them down, either in writing, or in the form of a picture. A couple nights ago, this shape-shifting black cat longed to live and be loved by some woman and her little girl, but couldn't stand the idea of living a lie, and turned away from everything he wanted so bad. It took me two scribbles of the cat to set up the scene before I thought I could tell the story. I really wanted to focus on him, and then the house, which was pretty much how the scene looked in the dream. I am actually pretty happy with my little 30 minute sketch. lol.

I am going to second the suggestion of making it a short comic. It seems like an interesting story.

Aww! Thank you!! Okay this comment probably made me way more excited than it should have. I didn't think anyone would like a crazy idea like that! I am totally gonna start on an outline for it tomorrow now.

Wow, this is so amazing, and your dreams must be so powerful ! ( I also have very strong dreams ^^ ) This is such an interesting story, and I love the expression you gave to this cat, it's simple and yet so well-detailed ! Beautiful work !

Aww. Thanks!
You know, I was totally thinking about that. I would love to draw it in this black and white style, too. I think it would be interesting.

Wow, this is a great concept, and I love how full of emotion the cat's face is, wonderful work, and I'm really enjoying your little black-and-white pics lately!
My dreams about my characters tend to be very vivid, and often events in their "stories" happen in dreams... I swear they develop themselves. :'D (which might also explain why my Krovens keep breeding . I see a design in my dreams, and get too attached to it, and before I realise it I have another character :'D)

Thanks! That was definitely something I wanted to focus on; his face. He needed to show how much pain he was in, and I was kinda surprised how easy it happened. LOL.
That's great! Because I can't stop with them. @_@ LOL
Lmao! Yes, they do develop themselves. I totally can relate to this. That's why I can't stop making characters. x)

You're very welcome, and it really did come across. And yes, DON'T STOP, I want to see more!
Indeed... and that's why sometimes mine might do rather shocking things, and I'm all like "Don't look at me, I didn't make him do it!". (particularly with Valke )

that idea is so sad, and you portrayed it so well. you'll have to do this to your dreams more often. i think it's incredibly interesting.

Thanks!
Yeah it was pretty sad. I really think the moody black and white really helped the mood I was trying to achieve, too. Probably inspired by my love of film noir. And I will! I am thinking this style works for my dreams, too, as the really vivid ones are pretty dark most of the time. I'm so glad you find it interesting! :3
