The Gloster Gladiator from the Shuttleworth Collection 2017. It was great to see the aircraft, although I was hoping to see it fly at legends before it withdrew. But it was amazing to see none the less.Related content

She withdrew from the show because a few weeks back at one of Shuttleworth's own shows, she suffered engine issues mid flight while performing a formation flight. She coughed out some black smoke and the engine cut out. She ended up having to make an emergency landing in an adjacent field, and had to be towed back to the airfield, the owner of the land she landed in having to cut down some trees in order for the aircraft to get back to the airfield. It was a close call and another moment this season where I had to hold my breath and hope all was well. Thankfully on this occasion, there was no damage at all.
It was a particular shame that she withdrew because the Fighter Collection's Gladiator that is based at Duxford, also suffered engine problems that same weekend and has been stuck in France ever since. So neither performed at Legends.
