I... don't... know... I've wondered this myself. But I've seen it on multiple websites, so maybe those count towards the downloads? But what the hell, 20,000+ downloads? I'm not gunna argue with that! I havn't seen anything else on deviant art with that many downloads, so I'm happy!

yeah many websites link to the file itself rather than the deviation page
besides, your work is great, no surprise it's got so many downloads
