How do you let the colours fade into each other? From blue to orange, I mean. I've never understood this technique, and want to be able to do it too

You use a gradient map.
I selected orange and blue as my two colors, then left clicked on the fill bucket tool, drag it to receive 'gradient map' click this. And then click your option of the colors you selected [mine being blue&orange] then it will blend them together automatically. When you drag the line across the screen and left go, the colors go orange to a light purplish to blue.
Ex you use red to yellow, it will blend into orange.
Do you want a tutorial to achieve this technique with pictures not words? I'd love to make it for you.
