Really excellent work, concentrating on the psychology rather than (as so many do) the physical details of the change. You certainly create a feeling of discontinuity and disconnectedness. I notice that you've set out the text in the form of a poem, with four-line stanzas, yet it clearly isn't a poem. Interesting! This bears reading and rereading
