after having my iPhone 4 stolen in January, and using a replacement BB Curve for the past year, I have finally gotten a new phone. After softbricking it twice within the first week of getting the phone, and waiting for a USB Jig to arrive in the mail, I finally managed to get CM7 on it. I'm good for now.Phew.

I know what you mean. CyanogenMod also saved my phone's *ss.
I rooted it and put original HTC Sense and after a OTA attempt, I bricked it...
After trying everything to get stock rom on it without success, I flashed CM6 and resurrected it. 
Now, after trying Oxygen rom, MIUI, and about 5 other roms, I'm back on CM7 and stick with it.
