I feel so numbDrowning,
Choking,
Emptiness filled
With thousands upon thousands
of stimuli,
Input overload
Leading to a nothingness.
Consumed by others
Fenced, cages -
Kept like a wild thing
In this prison of ideas
Nothing of me -
My usual essence
Can escape - overflow
Into this bleak landscape
Trapped inside myself -
Screaming to let me out
Deafened by this silence
I present to the world -
This mask of myself -
The marionette of this world
for all intents and purposes
I am - numb.
I scream - but I do not feel
I say "I love you"
But I struggle to make
The connection between
Lips and feelings in my heart.
I wish for the adrenaline
Of fear - coursing through my veins.
Empty, oblivious, numb.
I smile - say the appropriate line
At the appropriate time -
Never letting them glimpse
This well of bleakness
That would swallow me
Should I allow it to rise
Never let them see this truth
I Am Numb.

You take one emotion & run with it, I admire that. You put alot of feelings into that one feeling & take it to many new places. Also, you make the feeling yours & don't always say what readers deem you'll say. It's a rather nice quality of your writing.
