I just don’t knowWhat to do with myself
Crying myself to sleep
Every morning I wake
Feeling as though
I slept not at all.
Everything tastes
Distinctly of cardboard
Comfort food just…
Doesn’t comfort anymore.
It rained today –
Or so I am told –
I was standing out,
I came home soaked
I didn’t even notice.
I forgot to wear
My jumper today.
Someone said –
“Aren’t you cold?” –
I said to them –
“Is it cold? I didn’t notice.”
The world has receded
Into a foggy haze
Which I no longer
Even care about.
Cuts, scratches, bumps, bruises –
I no longer feel.
Everything is gray –
I am numb - painless…
Except for you –
Everything I see
Makes me think of us.
I feel nothing –
No discomfort -
Except for when I
Think of you.
Every morning
I wake up
Expecting your
Loving smile –
But I cannot
Find it anymore…
Every time I breathe
It reminds me of you –
Oh baby, it only hurts –
When I’m breathing…
